Collaboration with Steffen Klaue

Motorized Globe controlled by Kinect

This work was developped in collaboration with interaction Designer Steffen Klaue. The Globe is powered by a Stepper-Motor and receives its instructions by a Kinect-sensor installed under the table. Whereever one stands, the globe will always face its "backside" towards the spectator. Like this, most of the time hardly any landmasses are visible. The Pacific ocean and the Line of Date (Datumsgrenze) dividing the day into Yesterday and Tomorrow are the main focus.
