Lost in translation

Based on the appearance of electricity cabling in the streets of Quito, Ecuador, this installation was developped, to direct a beginning Voltage of 110V to a 100W lightbulb through 1000m of cable, reducing the shine, to a weak glow.

So sieht es in Ecuador an jeder Straßenecke aus: Ein dichtes Knäuel aus Kabeln. Die Installation ist aus einem einzigen Kabel der länge 1000m  gewickelt. Durch den Kabelwiderstand und Verlust durch Wärme wird die Ausgangsspnnung von 110 V erheblich vermindert. Die 100W-Lampe glimmt nur noch schwach.
